Prairie Experts from TX, OK, & LA to be at the
State of the Prairie Conference in Fort Worth

This year’s conference will feature the brightest minds in prairie restoration, acquisition, and education from from Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. We have nearly thirty different federal, state, and private institutions active in this event.

Our presentations and field trips will provide timely information about saving and restoring prairies in a rapidly changing world, including:

*   Conserving prairie birds and pollinators
*   Restoring of lands after energy development,
*   Using high-impact community engagement strategies
*   Finding and using appropriate prairie seed sources
*   Creating prescribed burn coalitions

National Wildlife Federation was so impressed with the conference topics and speakers that they offered one of their presenters to talk about the new farm bill’s connections to prairies.

The State of the Prairie Conference will be at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens and will include field trips to local prairies and an evening awards dinner. Conference accommodation with discounted rates are at the Fort Worth Fairfield Inn & Suites
